Baltic Gold is a heritage seafood brand operating within one of the most traditional and visually saturated categories in the grocery market. The challenge was to modernize the brand while preserving the familiarity and trust that existing customers had built over decades.

Working closely with the design team, I led the development of the brand strategy, positioning, visual guidelines, photography direction, and overall brand architecture. The foundation of the project was built around archival typography, raw textures, and classic canned seafood aesthetics, allowing us to create a system that felt authentic to the brand's history while introducing a more refined and contemporary visual language.

A key objective was differentiation. The canned seafood category often suffers from visual uniformity, making it difficult for consumers to distinguish one brand from another. Our approach focused on defining Baltic Gold's unique character, highlighting its heritage, strengthening its storytelling, and creating a more recognizable presence across packaging and marketing materials.

In parallel, we developed a new product line designed for a younger audience. While remaining connected to the parent brand, the collection introduced a more playful and contemporary identity, featuring bold flavors, unconventional combinations, and packaging designed to resonate with Gen Z and millennial consumers. My role included helping define the market positioning, consumer strategy, and launch direction to ensure the line aligned with evolving trends in the U.S. specialty food market.

The result was a cohesive brand ecosystem that successfully balanced tradition and innovation, allowing Baltic Gold to strengthen its existing market position while creating new opportunities for future growth.
